Welcome back yall.
We have finished filming a majority of the shots for our film, Running Late. Its been a fun process although I did feel like a bit of a mule at times carrying both my backpack and all the necessary camera equipment.
My role in the team has slightly changed, I am still the cinematographer but Ethan has generously taken up the role of editing, which is a great help as I am inundated with work at the moment. Other then that everyone's roles have stayed the same.
Picking a date to film was a major obstacle, our original planned day was unfortunately taken away by rain and every other day had at least one person busy with other commitments. In the end we had to shoot on a Monday, which meant filming had to be cut shoot so we could to the tutorial for the very course this film was for.
Now the only shots we are missing are the finale and the gag in which I am present (yes the one where I will be dressed as an old lady). In fact we are hopefully shooting those tomorrow with another Monday shoot, but this time we will have some extra time as this course's tutorial is not on.
The balance between other work and this film has been a bit of an issue for me (the amount of sleep I was running on when filming was comically low), but I feel confident that the rest of the team is fulfilling their roles so this entire assignment has been a stress-less one. With Allira as writer, the film idea have been fully formed and they have been very welcoming to the suggestions I have had while filming, which is something I very much appreciate as conceding any part of a clear creative vision is a difficult thing to do.
Now that everyone has settled into their roles, any unspoken fear of more work being pushed onto my shoulders has completely disappeared. I can now focus on how much I can input into the project, which is a positive feeling to have. My thoughts going forward:
I need to do the last part of filming (and acting for this first time this project) in the best effort to achieve Allira's creative vision
I would like to help Ethan with the editing process, as I has had some practice in editing and have some ideas of what the final shots would look then when i filmed them
I need to balance this project with the work I need to do for other courses.
